Producer-director Mahesh Bhatt made the film ‘Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi’ in 1991 with Aamir Khan and Pooja Bhatt, the  film ‘Pil Hai Ki Manta Nahi’, similar in name to this blockbuster film, has been released on Disney Plus Hotstar. Its customers are quite disappointed these days with the way the Indian team of Disney Plus Hotstar is serving the content to the viewers of Indian languages. Hotstar’s Corona transition period idea of releasing Hindi original movies ‘First Day First Show’ has already flopped. And, the way the line of remakes continues even in the case of series on this OTT has also played a big role in spoiling Disney’s branding in India.

The latest case is of the short film ‘Pil Hai Ki Manta Nahi’ released on this OTT. One can only feel sorry for the content selection team of this OTT, seeing the result of baseless foot story and second-rate acting. Arya Babbar is the hero of the short film ‘Pil Hai Ki Manta Nahi’. He also wrote and directed it. The producer is his wife Jasmine Babbar. Arya Babbar has tried to find a new career for himself in the entertainment world with this film made with a thought like Harr Lage Na Fitkari, Rang Bhi Aaye Chokha. But like in acting, here also his 100% dedication towards his profession is not visible. He has also chosen the character for himself in such a way that the audience neither likes nor sympathizes with him.

Arya Babbar played the character of Manav in the film ‘Pil Hai Ki Manta Nahi’. Married but also has a girlfriend. When unprotected sex takes place, he forces his friend to take the contraceptive pill. On the other hand, the wife is about to deliver a child and has reached the hospital. The twist in the tale here is that during labor pain, Manav is told by his wife that the child is not his but someone else’s.

Being a mother is the most beautiful gift of nature for a woman. But, after marriage, many such cases come to the fore where the wife faces problems in becoming a mother and these problems are not from her side but from the husband’s side. What should he do then? Should she also have an affair with someone to become a mother or should she divorce her husband after coming to know about him? And what if the wife has already done all that before all these questions come to the fore, for which the husband is now feeling guilty! The idea of the story is fine. But, Arya Babbar’s way of presenting it is not right.

The way Arya Babbar has presented a socially very influential subject, first as a director and then as an actor, is very childish. If this story had been written by a capable screenwriter, it could have been a very powerful film of 90 minutes, a social drama can also be written on it and a suspense film too. Arya Babbar has also tried to raise a question through the film that should one really try to kill the life in the womb before it is born? And, who should have the right to an abortion, the man or the woman? But he has presented this on screen in a very funny way.
