The year 2023 has started in a very interesting way in the theatres. South Indian stars Vijay and Chiranjeevi’s films are being dubbed and released in Hindi along with their original languages. Hindi filmmakers have placed box office bets on their two new films ‘Lakdabagha’ and ‘Kutte’. And, Hollywood has released its action film ‘Plane’ in India. This is a concerted effort by Lionsgate to slowly establish its foothold in India. Not many famous stars. The budget of the film is also limited. But, the story of the film is tight. The emphasis is on action and there is absolutely no unnecessary talk throughout the film. This film of one hour and 47 minutes is successful in increasing the speed of blood in the winter of North India, so it fits the choice of the film audience of West and South India.

Story of a ship stranded in bad weather

Action, thriller and comedy are the new surefire weapons for the success of films in world cinema. The good news is that Hollywood filmmakers are clear about the categories of their films from the very first frame and stick to their goals. The story of the film ‘Plane’ is very neat and clean. There are no cheap tricks to woo the audience. From beginning to end there is nothing but excitement and thrill. The story is about the atmosphere at the beginning of the new year. Pilot Torrance and Co-Pilot Dale are about to take off with the passengers. He is apprehensive about the bad weather on the way. It is assured that the weather will clear by the time he reaches that area. But, this does not happen. Lightning strikes a ship flying in the sky. The machines fail and Torrance manages to land the surviving ship on a road overlooking an unknown island. Their contact with the outside world has been cut off. And, the fighters on the island kidnap these passengers.

Keeping a close watch on the politics of mines

The movie ‘Plane’ is the best movie to watch this weekend with your friends. This film keeps you hooked from beginning to end. Along with this, the film also keeps on telling what is going on in this world. The value of human lives is nothing in the jugaad of profits of corporate companies. All they have to do is fly the airplane in the shortest possible distance. This film also tells what is the first priority of the airlines if the airplane disappears along with the passengers. Along with commercial priorities, the film ‘Plane’ also comments on social, political inequalities as an undercurrent of the story. The road where this ship has to be landed is for the mines built on the island. Wherever there are mines in the world, armed fighters are also found around them. It can also be understood in this way that if a ship has to be landed in the forests of Bastar or Dantewada and its passengers get caught by the Naxalites there, then what will happen?

And, after all this the real surprise item of the movie ‘Plane’ is actor Mike Colter. When the ship is about to fly, only they enter first. Handcuffs in hand. Along with an officer and the seat at the back. The pilot is white. Black prisoner. What emotions will emerge can be easily understood. But, in times of trouble only human beings come to the aid of human beings. Apartheid is only till the life of one of the two is easy. When the bonds break, the way to liberation opens. If Coulter has done a good job in the character of Gaspare, then 53-year-old Butler has received a lot of applause in the character of Torrance. First bringing the passengers of a ship stranded in bad weather to safety on land, then risking their lives to rescue the stranded passengers from the kidnappers and then getting them back in a damaged ship and flying off the island, it’s all right out of a comic book.

The story of the film ‘Plane’ was sold by Charles Cumming some six years ago at a very good price. Then this story kept changing all the owners. Lionsgate had also given up its intention to work on it in the year 2020. But when the corona was brought under control, the fate of this story also woke up again. Jean-François Richet has made a very tight action film as a director and from the first frame to the last frame, his grip remains on the film every moment. This is also the real reason for watching the movie ‘Plane’. The cinematography, editing and background music of the film are all good. Do take a chance and watch it in the nearest PVR cinema.
