Hunter: Tutega Nahi Todega review
This miniseries, which is directed by Prince Dhiman and Alok Batra, is based on the book “The Invisible Woman” by Saurabh Katial. The story may seem strange at first, but as the eight episodes of this series progress, you’ll be hooked. Each episode of the show runs for 30 to 35 minutes. ACP Vikram is the protagonist of the narrative. Leena Thomas, the owner of an orphanage, was brutally murdered, and he is now wanted for her murder. Leena was deeply involved in the trafficking of organs, as was her son David (Siddharth Kher). Overnight, Vikram is labelled a criminal. Will he be able to erase this notorious mark from his record?
The series’ star, ACP Vikram Sinha, is portrayed by Sunil Shetty. Like a one-man army, he is. He carries the weight of the entire series. Despite being a drug user, an alcoholic, and a troublemaker, ACP Vikram is a decent person. Nobody believes Vikram is innocent besides his closest friend Inspector Sajid (Karanvir Sharma) and his ex-wife Swati (Barkha Bisht). Both of them urge Vikram to tell everyone the truth while also offering their support to him. In an effort to establish his innocence, Vikram encounters Divya (Esha Deol). He is a journalist. Divya and Inspector Hooda (Rahul Dev) are now at odds because of their alliance with Vikram.
Along with the main plot, there are numerous additional stories in this series. One such intriguing tale involves Sidesh, a special hacker for Vikram (Mihir Ahuja). Pallavi is the love of Sidesh’s life (Gargi Sawant). They both connected via a dating app. The ironic thing is that both of them are hackers and have greatly benefited from one another’s work. However, the love story of the two is not given much attention in the series’ narrative because they are too preoccupied with showcasing their hacking prowess.
The ‘Hunter’ series’ narrative begins to fall apart in various places. However, the action scenes have amazing choreography. In slow motion, goons and miscreants getting washed looks cool. Action and stunts by Sunil Shetty are unmatched. As the Haryanvi cop Hooda, Rahul Dev makes an impression. He is a dishonest officer with his own set of regulations. Although Esha Deol did a good job as well, her wig is distracting. Gargi and Mihir Ahuja both did a good job in their respective roles. However, their characters could have been improved.
“Daiya Daiya” is Neha Kakkar’s item song in the series. It doesn’t, however, stay with you for very long. Old songs like “Rafta Rafta Dekho Aankh Meri Ladi Hai” and “Chahe Koi Mujhe Jungle Kahe” are played in the background during the fight scenes, and they sound better than “Daiya Daiya.”
Why to watch: “Hunter: Tootega Nahi, Todega” is a Bollywood masala action movie in general. But the weak screenplay kills it before it even starts. Only watch this web series if you have some free time or if Sunil Shetty is your favourite actor.
