Who of his three sons should be picked as his heir was Emperor Akbar of the Mughalia Sultanate’s biggest concern. Mirza Hakim, Akbar’s younger brother, does not like it when Akbar becomes the emperor. As history does not repeat itself, Akbar declares that the heir to the throne of Mughalia would be chosen based on his aptitude and that being born first does not confer the right to the kingdom. After Akbar’s choice, the three sons begin to argue about who will be the true successor to the kingdom. Salim, the eldest son, frequently consumes alcohol and engages in immoral behaviour with the harem’s concubines. The middle one, Murad, is fearless and skilled in all forms of combat, but he shows no mercy. The youngest son, Daniyal, is a homosexual who has performed five acts of worship.
ZEE5’s new web series ‘Taj Divided By Blood’ begins with young Akbar, after winning many battles, the only thing missing in his life is an heir. Akbar has no children after three marriages, he appeals to meet Sheikh Salim Chishti to pray. The character of Sheikh Salim Chishti is played by Dharmendra. In this series of 10 episodes, Dharmendra is only for this character in the first episode. This series is very different from what the common people know about Akbar. Akbar tries to somehow make Salim realize his responsibility, Murad to become compassionate and Daniyal to understand how to fight, but none of them live up to Akbar’s expectations.
The example of Salim and Anarkali’s love is recounted in historical accounts, or maybe better said, in the folklore of that time period. The online series “Taj Split by Blood” claims that Akbar has imprisoned Anarkali in his harem for 14 years. Akbar visits Anarkali in the harem whenever he has the need. Salim and Anarkali later cross paths and fall in love. When Akbar learns about it. Salim is expelled from the Sultanate and given the death penalty by Durjan Singh for arranging for him to see Anarkali. After all the upheavals, Akbar believes Daniyal may succeed him, but it is only then that it is revealed that Salim is alive and that the series’ second installment will begin.
Ron Scalpello serves as the showrunner for the online series Taj Divided by Blood. If no Mumbai-based filmmaker is given time, the series’ producer, Abhimanyu Singh, has already stated that he will hire a Hollywood director. Without a sure, the series was shot in a very opulent fashion, but Ron failed to convey the Hindustani flavour in this series. Throughout the series, Maharana Pratap has been seen engaging in gunfights. It is proven that Maharana Pratap passed away while hunting. Seeing Dharmendra was the biggest letdown in the series. His physique is no longer able to sustain his ardour. He appears to be a hapless artist once more.
The series also suffers from Naseeruddin Shah’s presence. He may have been able to make his mark through conversation, but his on-camera ooze has vanished. In every scene, Aashim Gulati can be seen mimicking Aditya Rai Kapoor from “Aashiqui 2”. Aditi Rao Hydari had expressed a lot of excitement about playing the character of Anarkali, but it ended up being rather boring.
